Recognises a business that has achieved success by identifying and then implementing an innovative idea. The innovation can be realised via a product, service, technology or process.

  • Describe the innovation and explain how it is unique/original? How did you identify, research and assess it’s value with your existing or new customer base and what approach did you use to inform and implement your innovation?
  • How are you maximising growth and sustaining/enhancing the benefits of the innovation to maintain a competitive edge?
  • What perimeters and indicators are you using to track the success and measure the value of the innovation?
  • Describe any risks or challenges your business faced when introducing this innovation. How did you manage them? What did you learn?

Excellence in INTERNATIONAL TRADE

Recognises a business that identifies and maximises benefits offered by trading in the global market place and achieves sustainable growth. International Trade includes both importing and exporting via a product, service or technology.

  • Describe your international trade growth / expansion in the last 1-2 years. What is your import or export revenue as a percentage of total revenue for your business? What new opportunities did you identify and what are your plans to expand on them?
  • What countries do you export to / import from? What are your key 3 to 5 biggest markets for the current year? Has this changed from the previous year?
  • Has there been growth in your sector internationally in the last year? If so, how does that compare with the total growth of your business?

The Westpac Business Award for Excellence in Community Contribution recognises organisations that implement initiatives that have a positive impact on the community and generate outcomes that have a long term benefit. Initiatives can include but are not limited to projects, programs, processes, systems, technologies, developments, ventures and undertakings.
